Every Base Covered

In order not to miss anything, the BBC covered the countdown to the London Olympics yesterday with around 200 staff and inflicted their rolling wooden footage every 3 minutes upon viewers.

I feel this is terribly over-the-top and incredibly dull reporting of news that was hardly interesting to begin with.  It’s truly wonderful that we are on track with construction and that we launched an ugly clock with the countdown but I’m sure a smaller team for domestic and international reporting would have sufficed.  What were the BBC waiting for… the clock to stop or to go the other way like the clock on my oven (very confusing)?

  1. It was a bit much but there was no escape on the news yesterday.
