Take A Peek

This weekend, it is the wonderful Open House London event!  Every year hundreds of buildings open their doors, for free, to the public so we can wander around and appreciate the design and architecture of the London skyline.  Whether you’re fond of new or heritage architecture there is something for everyone.

The event was started to Londoners could get to know more about their neighbourhoods and have an incentive to explore other parts of the city.

There are over 800 buildings participating but check the Open House London 2012 website to see where you want to go and how popular the site is as queues can be very long.  For example early visiting is recommended for the Lloyds building and for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office Building.  If you’re lamenting the fact you are nowhere near London there are other wonderful cities around the world that participate throughout the year in including New york (this October) and Rome.  Check openhouseworldwide.org for more details.
