Pink is India’s Navy Blue

So said fashion icon, Diana Vreeland and how right she was!  Whilst there was plenty navy blue in the recent fashion weeks showcasing next season’s Spring/Summer collections we will soon see if there is just as much pink in India’s fashion presentation.

Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2013 will take place in Delhi from 6 – 10 October 2012.  The venue is the tired old Pragati Maidan which is not nearly glamorous enough to hold fashion events in my not-so-humble-opinion, however, the organisers seem to love it.

A whopping 63 designers will showcase their collections and the grand finale show goes to legendary Indian designer, Ritu Kumar this season,  JJ Valaya closed last season so the benchmark has been set high!

I don’t need any excuse to wear pink, I love it, it’s such a delicious colour so here are a few picks from the High Street to bring it into your wardrobe immediately:

These new additions to Tom Ford’s make-up line are available at Selfridges.

The gorgeous pink cashmere sweater above is from Uniqlo is £89.90 and the brighter pink extra fine merino polo neck also from Uniqlo and is only £19.90!  They don’t sell long necks I’m afraid, you’re on your own with that.

And finally, if you’re on a budget but still want something new and pink here is a fab new lip balm by good ol’ Vaseline!  It’s a limited edition lip balm called Pink Bubbly and it’s only £3.49 from Selfridges and I imagine many other little chemists.  Of course I, of all people, MUST have one since we share a name.

  1. Tom Ford just does the best packaging. Simple clean lines and luxurious. I love his range – thanks for the pink tip.

  2. LOVE pink!

  3. My wee niece bought me a gorgeous pink lippie – I stick it on in the morning and it’s on all day mwahhh

  4. Is the pink vaseline good? I usually find it a little too greasy!

    • Ooh I will let you know I haven’t bought it yet. Vaseline can be quite greasy but I think it helps to keep it in a cool place.
