Festive Food: Red Onion Tart

During the coming weeks, I will be bringing you quick, easy and scrumptious recipes that can be rustled up for any celebration or entertaining during the festive season.

Red Onion Tart

Red Onion and Feta Tart recipe.


  • Ready rolled puff pastry
  • 2 onions
  • 1/2 pack of feta
  • 100g black pitted olives
  • 2 tbs muscovat sugar
  • 2 tbs balsamic vinegar


Preheat oven to 180 degrees.

Slice the onions and soften in a knob of butter. Cook for 8 minutes until softened and then the add sugar and vinegar. Cook for a further 5 – 8 minutes until the mixture has become syrupy.

Roll out the puff pastry on a baking tray. Spread the onions over the pastry coating it evenly. Scatter feta cheese and olives over the onions.

Bake in the oven for 15 – 20 minutes until the pastry is golden.

Slice and serve with some rocket.

Delicious…… and only takes half an hour!
