I woke up to sad news this morning that Ravi Shankar had passed away at the age of 92. Ravi Shankar is credited for making the sitar the sound of India to the world. Subsequently Ravi Shankar introduced Indian sound to pop music through collaborations with the Beatles and concerts abroad.
I am fortunate to have seen Ravi Shankar playing at a free music concert in a park in Delhi. It was a beautiful setting, perfect temperature and the most heavenly music played by an icon well into the sunset.
A sad loss.
