Designers Siddartha Tytler and Namrata Joshipura both showed collections inspired by the wild and darker side of women. Full skirts and pretty draping were strong design elements in this eclectic collection.
Namrata Joshipura’s collection was subtitled Wings of Desire and the overall look was inspired by street-style.
Although the collection was well put together with beautiful detailing the show demonstrated a conundrum for designers. Namrata wanted dimmed lighting which is great for the show, however, not particularly great in photos. The intricately appliquéd leather strips and hi-tech fabrics will thus have to be admired in stores. A show lasts ten minutes, photos last forever. Accessories for the collection are by Gautam Sinha of Nappa Dori.
Design duo Pankaj & Nidhi’s collection was called ‘The Music Box’ which translated into guitar motifs and so on throughout the collection.
The different textures seemed interesting, however, overall the collection bore the fingerprint of London-based designer Mary Katrantzou. Panjak & Nidhi are a creative pair with a strong design direction that seems to have gone slightly off piste this season.
