Josh Goraya WIFW AW 2014
Upcoming and talented designer, Josh Goraya showcased his latest collection in a segment called Hi5 where five new designers pick ten looks each for a joint fashion show.
Designing for both men and women, it is the menswear that I was more drawn to simply because the looks were so cosmopolitan and had interesting design elements without losing any masculinity. This is important for lots of men when looking for new designs.

The textured designs combined silk, leather, wool and velvet. The earthy colour palette was in tune with Autumn/Winter which is also important for a designer with an international outlook.

I loved the subtle tonal embroidery and other understated details. Josh graduated from National Institute of Fashion Technology (India’s most prestigious fashion school) with an award for creative excellence. He then spent five years working for one of my favourite brands in India, Rohit Gandhi & Rahul Khanna, this is undoubtedly where his understated and restrained embroidery style must have come into its element.
The other new designer names to watch include: Chhaya Mehrotra, Rinku Sobti who showed an interesting macramé inspired collection, Saaj by Ankita and 431-88 by Shweta Kapur.
