Rajesh Pratap Singh, AIFW AW2015
There wasn’t an ode to the NHS and the London Olympics opening ceremony in Rajesh Prarap Singh’s accompanying show notes. This is surely the most eccentric grand opening of Indian Fashion Week that I have seen: a catwalk filled with hospital beds and drips together with a live band.
Rajesh Pratap Singh is known for his innovative outlook in fashion and textiles and India Fashion Week’s new sponsor, Amazon has innovation imbibed in its DNA, what an excellent match to set the pace for the coming week.
There was a utilitarian look to the 50s inspired silhouettes and a dash of futuristic in the Zaha Hadid influenced architectural shoes. Rajesh Pratap Singh indulges his ready-to-wear customers with hand sewn couture touches and this collection had even more hand crafted details. Isn’t that a very good reason to pop into his boutiques when Autumn finally comes to see the detailing up close and personal?
You can watch the shows live (Indian time) on Amazon.in
