Day 1 Amazon India Fashion Week AW17: Parting Lips and Back to Work

Parting Lips was the title of the Krishna Mehta show at Amazon India Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2017. The collection was lovely and colourful but the press release was utter gobbledegook to me as I couldn’t connect the collection to the accompanying explanation.

Presented three days after the Hindu festival of colour, Holi, Krishna Mehta’s show looked like the after party of festival spirit.

Acclaimed design duo, Abraham & Thakore showed a Summer collection in a ‘see now, buy now’ format being tested in the West by companies like Burberry and Ralph Lauren amongst others.

A collection produced exclusively in cotton that had been woven by hand, the collection sought to attract women whose work takes them from their serene air conditioned office to the reality of 40 degrees heat outside. The designers also played with androgynous tailoring.
