Losing The Plot Over Peace

The Nobel peace prize already began losing credibility, just like the Oscars, when it was awarded to the newly elected President of the United States of America, Barak Obama.  This time the Nobel committee have gone one step worse and awarded the prize to the European Union.

The long drawn out explanation included praise for being democratic, for not being at war and for sticking together at times of crisis and conflict.

Fashion designers Anand Kabra and Payal Pratap opened Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week with their joint show on Day 1.  Anand Kabra studied at the London College of Fashion but designs both Indian and Western silhouettes.

Open All Hours

Sunday shoppers have been privileged with unregulated opening hours during the past fortnight and it is continuing until after the Para Olympics. The Coalition government believe this to be a positive way in boosting the British economy and are seeking to change store opening times on Sunday to comply with the rest of the week forever.

Isn’t 6 hours of shopping enough on a Sunday? Do we really need shops to open longer so that we can consume?

Satanic Publicity Machine

It’s been hard to get away from all the Salman Rushdie news for more than a week now.  The infamous author was due to appear at the Jaipur Literature Festival and decided not to attend at the last minute due to threats on his life which were subsequently discredited.

The fuss created by Salman’s author friends spilled into hysterical in my opinion.
