Hall of Fame: Baroness Warsi

Sayeeda Warsi is Minister without Portfolio & Co-Chairman of the Conservative Party.  Seldom without an opinion, Baroness Warsi is a regular on BBC1 Question Time, however, Baroness Warsi also divides opinion especially amongst the media and Muslims.  Politics aside, there is no doubt that Baroness Warsi is a high achieving ambitious woman and here, we hope to shed a little more [interesting] light on her:

Debt Crisis

Deal with your debt and help Britain economy in its road to recovery is the message from Prime Minister David Cameron today at the Tory party conference in Manchester. His speech has baffled me today. Speaking to the conference as if the nation are 5 year olds, he makes assumptions that those in debt can somehow rustle up the money to pay them off. Surely, if they could do that, then they wouldn’t be in debt?

The Big Society in Action

Political correspondent Nick Robinson hosted an interesting documentary called “The Street That Cut Everything” on BBC on Monday night. This was Prime Minister David Cameron’s Big Society in action.

A street in Preston conceded council services for 6 weeks. As a community, they had to run everything from rubbish collection to graffiti cleaning, benefits support to planning issues.
