Internationally acclaimed fashion designer, Anupama Dayaal kicked off Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Spring/Summer14 with an explosion of colour and bold prints.  Some collections could be viewed as transcending seasons, however, Anupamaa’s screamed SUNSHINE.  Bright pinks, orange and yellow tones worn with tousled hair and beach foot accessories completed the looks.

One of the highlights of Delhi Fashion Week, Autumn/Winter 2012, was the Fashion Design Council of India’s special show.  Each year the FDCI takes on a cause as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility and this season the spotlight fell on an organisation fighting human trafficking of women: Youcanfree.us

Day 1 from Wills India Fashion Week in Delhi got off to a cracking start.  Autumn/Winter shows in Delhi are usually of loose relevance as designers forget it gets Very Cold Indeed here in Winter and offer bales of chiffon to supposedly keep us warm.  With a vodka shot please.

Veteran Indian designers showcase alongside the new generation and here I present three designers that showed yesterday and who can demonstrate the bredth of fashion coming from India:

Love Fashion Week

Next week the crazy energy that follows international fashion weeks begins.  Designers from around the world will be showcasing their Autumn/Winter 2012 collections to whet our appetites for next season and lament that they will not be available sooner – good things come to those who wait (apparently!).

Two days before London Fashion Week, however, sees the start of the wonderful Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week in Delhi showcasing 138 designers from all parts of India and this time it will even include a number of acclaimed Japanese designers.  The Fashion Design Council of India
