A rather intriguing celebrity endorsement that I have become aware of is the Maria Sharapova Tower in Gurgaon, an industrial mega-city outside Delhi. Celebrities just aren’t governed by the same rules as the rest of us. A tennis player can become an interior designer, pop stars can moonlight as fashion designers and perhaps one day we can call on celebrities to read out wills or perform surgery. If you’re famous you don’t seem to need any formal qualifications or experience.
Would you live in a high rise apartment bock that had been endorsed by a celebrity you admired?
The website for this property company seems to have been spoofed or it’s just shockingly bad:

Having heard great things about Seventeen in Notting Hill, I broke with tradition and decided to Go West and try it out.
First impressions were incredible, this certainly is a very cool Chinese restaurant, very modern but in keeping with a Chinese aesthetic. I’m not entirely convinced it belongs in Notting Hill which is more understated cool, but anyway, I was looking forward to a fab meal having been very impressed immediately with the restaurant interior.

Delhi, the sprawling capital city of India includes numerous little villages that were swallowed up in the city’s expansion. Retaining their narrow lanes and crumbling buildings they have an authenticity missing in the newer parts of Delhi.
One such village is Shahpurjat. One could easily drive past it or live in the city for years as a foreigner without knowing it existed, however, it has some very delightful shops and cafes that are worth visiting. Last night Downton Abbey was crowned best drama at the National TV Awards. I hardly watch tv at all but I am so so glad a friend recommended this period drama to me one Sunday. It was an episode in the middle of series two but that didn’t matter, I became fond of the characters instantly and the fashion and interior design even more.
