Hemant & Nandita WIFW AW 2014
‘Plush decoded’ was the title of designers Hemant & Nandita’s show but it could also easily have been New York decoded. Luxurious sportswear inspired separates ensued down the catwalk with mesh park fences as the backdrop.
Nikasha WIFW AW 2014
Regular Chatterboxes know I am a real sucker for Sufi poetry and I was delighted to find that designer, Nikasha had a Rumi poem in her show notes:
In your light I learn how to love…
In your beauty how to make poems
You dance inside my chest where no one else sees you,
but sometimes I do, and that sight becomes this art.
Wah wah, masha’allah! Ok, back to the collection.
A look from Chanel with the now famous €3,000 trainers (all the looks were paired with trainers all costing the same, see more below.
The Spring/Summer 2014 Couture collections showcased earlier this month in the city synonymous with couture and fashion: Paris.
Celebrating the fantasy and dream that is flamboyant fashion without worrying about price tags, I’ve selected some of my favourite looks from most of the designers that showed. A milestone for couture and for women in fashion this season was the first official granting of couture status to a woman in over thirty years to designer, Bouchra Jarrar. Capturing the nonchalant essence of Coco Chanel, the new grande couturière excels in everyday couture and why not! Although one guess is that women who wear everyday couture don’t have to take the Northern Line…
One of my darling nieces who is five years old made that statement contrary to her mother who said that my niece’s teeth were in a bad state and she wasn’t getting any. I know who will win that battle…!
Lindt bunnies are the cutest Easter treat to give to loved ones this weekend and you know their mini size bunnies are only about £0.30 but get a guaranteed smile and squee from the receiver.
My niece might be able to sit inside this chocolate egg by luxury chocolate company
Christmas is a time for spiritual reflection and prayers for peace… Recall and cancel: Christmas means big business and high expectations to please and be pleased.
If you have run out of time or ideas, I’ve picked some designer Christmas crackers might be something to throw money at. Instead of a naff joke and a teeny deck of playing cards suitable only for the Sylvanian Family
Nobu is one of those marmite restaurants that people either love or hate. A friend went a while ago and was hit with a £500 bill between four and frankly speaking, that did put me off a little. I love sushi but always feel hungry after a couple of hours and would not appreciate a rumbling tummy after a hefty bill.
Having said that, every time I have had sushi at a restaurant with a Nobu guest chef
JJ Valaya’s couture collection was called The Azrak Collection, The Realm of The Sultan. Azrak translates as rare and uncommon from Turkish and we were treated to a colour palette and silhouettes invoking the glorious Ottoman Empire whilst showcasing the skills and dedication of the Indian master craft workers at his disposal. The essence of true couture
PCJ Delhi Couture Week 2012 couldn’t have opened with a fresher and younger look than the collection presented by Varun Bahl. Called India, Nouveau the collection was as elegant as it was sexy with its sheer fabrics and peek-a-boo highlights whilst keeping the wearer ingeniously covered and demure!
