Prick of the Week from Wimbledon

marion-bartoli wimbledon

No sooner had French tennis player Marion Bartoli  won the Wimbledon championship when BBC Radio 5 Live presenter John Inverdale made the following disgusting commentary:

The website for this property company seems to have been spoofed or it’s just shockingly bad:

” Good news for all those enthralling and diehard fans of MARIA SHARAPOVA

Mo Murray!

After Wimbledon tears and Olympic cheers, everyone’s favourite miserable Scot, Andy Murray sealed his place in British tennis history by winning the US Open.  It has been 76 years since a Brit won and it was truly wonderful news to wake up to.

One of the endearing stories to come out

Strawberries And Cream

Wimbledon has started, the debate continues of why England cannot produce a Wimbledon champion and the nation tucks into a fortnight of strawberries and cream.

Such is the association of strawberries and cream with this event, that every year, supermarkets report a considerable rise in the sale of strawberries and cream. Once Wimbledon is over, sales go back down to normal levels.
