Rapunzel

timoteismeagol

Sometimes after a gorgeous indulgent shower I look into a steamy mirror looking for the blond beauty in the old Timotei ads and instead I see Smeagol from Lord of the Rings. Thin stringy hair sticks to my scalp and I shudder.

Not any more! Enter L’Oréal Elvive Fibrology Thickening Shampoo, Conditioner and Serum. Now, L’Oréal is a little iffy on science usually, it likes making up chemicals, “contains neutroangenlinajolie” etc but this stuff really works. It contains something that people use to fix cracks in windscreens. When I wash my hair I can actually feel it thickening in the shower and afterwards it is amazingly thick, and becomes thicker with every wash.

Two downsides: my hair is not as shiny as it used to be but shiny usually means flimsy too; and you can’t use this if you have curly hair as it’ll kill the curl.

About £3 for the shampoo but currently half price in Superdrugs. Enjoy!

  1. Ooh bunty it sounds fab but do you think the chemicals are safe? Windscreen technology for hair…

    • Spoken like a true thick-haired woman!! Bubbly, your hair is thick and curly. If it wasn’t you would know that I couldn’t care less what chemicals it contains! Pile ’em in and give me a MANE! My hair is so thick using this that I have to control it! Love!
